UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS

Advice for your circumstances.

Employer sponsored pathways connect eligible skilled workers with Australian businesses. A suitable job offer is a starting point, but the employer, nominated role and visa applicant must satisfy the requirements of the relevant pathway.

We help workers and employers understand the sponsorship, nomination and visa stages that apply. Advice considers the occupation, role, qualifications, experience and the business's circumstances.

THE PATHWAYS

A closer look at your options.

01

Skills in Demand · 482

A temporary employer sponsored pathway with Core Skills, Specialist Skills and Labour Agreement streams. The relevant stream and requirements depend on the role and applicant.

02

Employer Nomination Scheme · 186

A permanent employer-nominated pathway with Direct Entry, Temporary Residence Transition and Labour Agreement streams, each with its own criteria.

03

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional · 494

A provisional pathway for eligible sponsored employment in designated regional Australia. Regional, employer and applicant requirements must be considered.

HOW WE HELP

A thoughtful plan. Clear next steps.

  • Compare suitable sponsored visa pathways.
  • Review occupation and role alignment.
  • Explain sponsorship, nomination and applicant evidence requirements.
  • Coordinate the agreed application stages for the worker and business.

BEFORE WE TALK

Prepare for your consultation.

You do not need every document ready to make an enquiry. For a detailed consultation, the following can help us understand your position.

  • Job offer, proposed duties, employment terms and relevant salary evidence.
  • Qualifications, work references and details of your actual experience.
  • Current visa details, English results and any skills assessment or occupational registration.
  • Employer details and existing sponsorship or nomination correspondence, where applicable.
Bring documents to your consultation when requested. Please leave passport numbers and sensitive documents out of the initial enquiry form.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A little more clarity.

Does a job offer guarantee visa eligibility?

No. The role, employer and applicant must meet the relevant requirements. Sponsorship or nomination does not guarantee a visa.

Can a temporary visa lead to permanent residence?

Some eligible applicants may qualify for a separate permanent pathway, such as subclass 186. Permanent residence is not automatic and the later criteria must be met.

Is a skills assessment always required?

It depends on the visa, occupation, applicant and any applicable exemption. We check the requirements of the proposed pathway.
